To all the wonderful JBT fans here on the forum,
It is with deep regret and sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our wonderful friend, apache_frulove - real name Pamela.
Pamela was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2010. She fought a long hard battle. Though in reality, it wasn't that long.
Pamela passed away on Sunday morning, 15th January 2012 surrounded by her family.
It was our mutual love of JBT that brought us all together as friends and from that a beautiful friendship grew.
Our amazing idol John was kind enough to write Pamela a letter sending hope and courage. She read the letter and it became a treasured possession.
We ask that in her honour, each and EVERY person on this forum tell their female loved ones and friends to go have a pap smear. Don't put it off - unfortunately Pamela left it too late to follow up her test results and it cost her her life.
Pamela was an amazing woman who loved the earth and animals. She was a kind soul and the world has lost a very precious person.
Thankyou for your thoughts and please treasure each and every moment with family and friends.
John, if you read this, thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for your letter, it brought joy and love to her heart when she really needed it.
With much love
Devannah, Maz and Rachel

Thanks for posting this... Pam is such a great spirit. I had the honor of chatting with her several times over facebook and here. Her love for music including my 2 favs jbt and pearl jam, gave us lots to chat about. She had a very good soul by her side every step of the way (Finchy)...I want to thank john for writing that letter to her. I read it on facebook and it warmed my heart knowing that he made her so happy by doing that...Such a class act....Finchy and Pam will be in my thoughts and prayers...may god bless

Thanks for posting this P-Man.....
I didn't have the pleasure and honor of meeting Pam in person but, as she did for many people, she touched my life in many special ways. Always caring and compassionate for others despite whatever her own troubles were. So passionate about the Earth and all it's creatures and equally passionate about music. She was kind enough to send me some seeds and I have a garden bed full of the herbs she sent, some of which I dried and sent up to her for a healing tea. That garden is called Pam's garden and I will always think of her when I'm tending that patch. We connected on many levels and I miss her dearly. I'm glad, however, that she's no longer in pain and has moved onto discovering what the 'great mystery' of life is. She lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone her beautiful soul touched and through her gorgeous girls. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends at this time.

Although I didn't talk to her that much, the few times that I did she was just the nicest, friendliest person ever. My heart and thoughts go out to her family, friends and you guys, Maz, Rach and Dev x

That's very sad. My heart goes out to all those close to her. I only had a few internet encounters, but i know she was lovely. My dad is recently palliative with cancer. It's such a thing that you really can't grasp it's magnitude until it directly affects you. Personally, I was feeling it was so unjust that my dad has just retired, only a bit over 60. I understood that many more unjust things happen in the world, to many a more young people, but it is hard to correlate it all. Though when I read this, about Pamela, I was just heartbroken. I didn't really know her, but in the way of the world and trying to understand it all, I truly felt her passing. We all have our situations, and death is a constant, yet so is life. I don't mean to make light or take anything from this, which is meant to be about her. What I meant to say is that after I read that letter, I felt less gravity for my own direct situation. I don't even know how to explain, but as sad as I felt for the early passing of apache, i felt thankful for the reminder of the quickness of this life. I wish strength and love to all those that loved her. xo

Only just seen, my condolences to all her friends and family, including those who didn't meet her directly but had engaged with her on here. Not much I can add that hasn't been said better by people who are far more qualified to speak, so I will just say that even with the limited experience I have had with death it has produced the strongest emotions I have ever felt. Knowing that others are going through the same (whether I know them personally or not) can bring it all back to me like a flash, and so I empathise with you all and hope that you can come to terms with the loss.

Oh my God, this is the first time I have even went into the "General discussion" section for a few months.
Very sad news to hear. My prayers are with her family and friends in this time of need. From what I knew of her on here.....she was a very cool gal. A very big nature child and great fan of JBT. This community and the JBT fam will forever miss her. Everyone who reads this......you never start living until you are gone.
With endless love, respect, and condolences...

I have just read this for the first time......such sad news! My thoughts go out to her family. I always enjoyed her posts and pictures of shows she and Finchy (among our other brothers and sisters in Oz) attended. I hope she now finds peace and comfort for eternity - and is kicking out some great RHCP and JBT jams! My condolences to all.....
Peace.
Peace.

Oh, I feel so sad.
We shared just a few messages but I coul see she was full of love.
She was just one day younger than me. Devasted.
The best for her man, close friends and little children. Seriously, you have in Spain all the support and help that can be usefull for all of you.
Every now and then I used to remember apache because she uploaded one of my fave John Butler“s songs: Grooving slowly.
Uff, devasted.
