Kia ora fellow forumers

I know many of you have been lucky enough to meet the band after gigs in the past, and I was wondering if there is any chance in the world I might be able to fulfil my long time dream of meeting the band? I will be seeing them for the first time next month when they play Daisy Banks Vineyard in Martinborough. (So excited)

I figure I'd better introduce myself properly in case someone sees this. I busk, playing acoustic rootsy blues guitar (heavily influenced by JB) out on the streets of Palmerston North. I've been busking regularly over the past few years and now am moving into University where Im studying Geography and Maori studies. I hope to make my mark on paptuanuku, mother earth through one day working for an organisation that protects the land and the fragile natural environment with the help of local Iwi and traditional values such as Kaitiakitanga (stewardship and balance between earth and her people), or perhaps as a musician (only pipe-dreaming really).

I would be over the moon If I was able to thank my heroes in person next month.

If anyone in the band or management reads this I would like to thank you all for keeping the good spirit growing around the globe through the music and message. And for coming out to Aotearoa next month. Much, much love respect to you all. Peace

Harry Lilley

My advice is stick around after. Given this is outdoors, it may be different, but try anyway. Best of luck Harry!

It will be more of a challenge at an outdoor event in the South Pacific. Considering this is the area where he is "from", the challenge to me would be more fun. In the States, it is super easy but this is what I would do......stick around after a show.

You have to find his bus if he is in one for this tour. Most likely he will be. You may not be able to get near the bus at all but as long as you can see it, your good. You will have to keep your eye out for him if it is any kind of distance away at all. Usually Nicky or some crew will come out first but like I said, keep your eyes peeled because he comes and goes pretty quick. When you do see him, he most likely will NOT see you unless your right next to the bus so you will have to call out his name or get his attention. John is a very cool person so if he knows you are wanting to grab his attention, he will come to you. I have been meeting John before and after shows for years and years to get my stuff signed and take pics so take it from me.........it is not hard either way. There have been times he comes out right away and sometimes it may take a couple of hours. Be prepared to wait just in case. If you can get there early before anyone else and it is HIS headline shows, you can see him before the show.

The only time it will be real hard is at music festivals that are barracaded all the way around with ass loads of security.....like Bonaroo, lol. Don't even try at music festivals unless security isn't too heavy but you do want to meet him in a more humble mood, not fighting security, lol GOOD LUCK BUDDY!

Hey man, I truly hope you get to fulfill your dream!! I had my chance when he recently (last august) played here in rio de janeiro, Brazil. It would've been easy if i tried (for the same reasons pointed out by this guy above, there ain't too many fans here in Brazil) but I missed it out and now I regret... but that's cool, life goes on! So buddy, if you do have a chance... do not miss it!! have strenght and have faith! in other words, just believe!! I'll be waiting here for my next chance!!
Hey buddy, it's nice to know that other folks 'round the world feel the same way that I do about these stuff, you know? I think J.B. inspires positively each one of us all, in diferent ways of course!!
Would you do me a favor? When you get in touch with J.B. (if you remember this, of course) could you ask him if he managed to get the cd with brazilian music that one crazy ass fan tried to give him (actualy tossed on stage) at his show in rio, Brazil? I think he won't probably remember it, but anyway...
anyway, good luck buddy!!
