Yeah... a treat to hear Revolution in that form. Plenty of other treats in the show too.
Ballarat was memorable, for all the good reasons - Great seats, great atmosphere, top show... funny bugga, great stories, and I've limited edition graphic art work to frame. Just don't expect a 'human jukebox' on the stage.

We had a great day working our way back to Melbourne, visiting some of Blue's comfortable childhood places in the country all day.... picked up some old shellac records cheap [worth a lot more than $2 each] too.
Then the mad traffic of outer Melbourne became a downer.... stuff these damn toll roads here. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

It must just be the pre-order. Once on sale it will be like other live albums.

Looks like it will be more than the initial 500 the site had 'available'.
Count was getting down to single figures, but now shows over 100.

There were pre-order forms at merchandise counter after the gig we attended, and I'd assume more that 500 were pre-ordered at venues.
It would be nice to have those pre-order albums 'unique' in some way, considering the buyers are dedicated supportive fans.

Anyhow, I hope to see the album soon when I get home from work one day this week... being near the distributors address here I reckon there is a chance of that happening.

Oh, and as an example of 'unique'... I've pre-ordered another artists works last week and ticked the order box for that option.
Thanks Billy... and Woody.

Everything I've seen says that the new album is only available on musicplug. Will it be available outside the internet afterwards?

CD's arrived yesterday... I've played twice, and Blue three times since.

Sweet ! Very nice way to recall the gig we attended... virtually the same tracks and tales... recon we were treated to a little extra including laughs through through the gig, because John was a funny bugga, enjoying the performance.

There was the LE art works I picked up that night too.... must get a pic and post up soon. Sorry, been into a new work regime so thats fallen behind on the list of things to do.... along with making frames so we have em on the wall.

I recommend you use a CD/DVD player connected to a big Amp and big speaker.... turned right up to concert level volume.
Gotta 'feel' that vibe! and thats the way to play a 'live performance' recording... always! ;)

Hmmmmmm .... looking at a new Amp to do that good and proper - 100W X 6 channel stereo should do that good enough.
Trouble with that isn't complaints from neighbours... it's the complaints from the 'kids' living here.
I figure if we keep that up they will eventually move out.

Full concert video bootleg by an audience member. Brings up some of the issues we discussed before about being 'intrusive' and whatnot to the intimate environment. But, from what I have watched (just snippets here and there for now), the filmer seems to have kept discretion in mind. I think the camera is sitting in his lap as from what I have seen, there always seems to be upper body silhouettes on either side of the video.
Enjoy :)

^Yep, received mine last night as well. Haven't had a chance to listen to it, as I want to give the performances the proper attention they deserve! You only get one first-time listen after all!

Tom, great job with the artwork. The disc sleaves, etc. are beautiful - looks like it was a great stage set-up for the shows! Looking forward to getting down with it soon.....

Peace.

:)

Just wanna say how much I enjoyed the gig on the 24th April at the Hi fi. I have had a few weeks to absorb it and it was perhaps the best gig I have seen yet. What an honour to be able to see him so intimate and solo, it was a trully powerful atmosphere and one which suits him so much better than stadium or massive venues, though I realise the it wont be possible to keep is so small in future, I wish it could!

The best part for me was that it gave me insight into his new music that I had not recieved from the albums or gigs previous (GN> April Uprising) The best song by far was Mystery Man, the song never had struck a chord with me until I saw it solo and wow, it shows what a craftsman JB really is. Its amazing how "stripping" the songs of the rest of the instruments and seeing them how they were originally written (I am assuming he writes solo then takes the stuff to the band), he was incredibly laid back and happy, and funny. He couldnt wipe the smile off his face, I will forever remember the gig. Thanks Johnny B

I wasn't able to go to any of the shows, but listening to the CD, Mystery Man was definitely the standout for me too, in exactly the same way you've described. It was just 'one of the songs on AU I don't listen to as much', but then when I heard it all stripped back (and slightly reworked?) with just John doing his thing, it really just incredible, like it was almost a new song altogether. Better Than is my other favourite from the CD. The One Small Step version of Better Than has always been my favourite, and TST is pretty much the same with a couple of sweet extra new sections of John showing off just how talented he is :)

Melbourne to Nashville in under 4 days? If it HAD arrived then the big font would of been appropriate usage.

Sure is a great recording and 'document'. Here, due to me being at work suffering rotten Bogan 3MMM radio station, 'Blue' is the one playing it all the time at home.
We have stashed the tickets from the show we attended in the CD sleeves.

Bit over that commercial crapo radio I must say!
Enough to have me quit.

Geeez, I must photo and upload the signed LE art I picked up that night too.
Batteries charged? Lets see.

Whats TST? It does sound like a whole new song hey :D Twas a shame good as gone didnt make it onto the album, that was a stand out from the gig aswell! And a few of his new songs, but I am sure they will be coming out on the new album whenever that shall be. Revlution on the cd was different than what we had, he just played his 6 string and had an old mate (old sound engineer) play the pedal steel, that was a whole new way to experience Revolution! Was a great gig :)

Maaaaan, I've always dug Good As Gone, I was so surprised a few weeks back when I saw in a review that John had been playing it again recently. Did he rework it much, or was it just sweet to hear a relatively unknown B-side? Damn that Revolution sounds amazing, do you know if there were any videos? Which Melbourne show were you at?

Yeah misha, you're correct, TST=Tin Shed Tales, just me and my lazy typing :)

Ahh TIn Shed Tales makes much more sense! Not sure if there is a video or audio, certainly not on my part. Wasnt much different, but he loved playing it and you could tell the song meant a lot for him though it made a B side, he mentioned that before he played it! I was at Hi FI 24th April, the first melbourne show!

Did you manage to order a spare of 'The Owl' ?
If so, I have one copy of 'The Archer' to trade.

These are on heavy card, not like a poster, and around A4 size.

Oh cool... 'The Owl' will make a 'set'.
I wasn't aware there was others to this limited edition print run.
I'll try contact means soon.... just got home and bit burned out from stoopid work regime.

Shame I only have one spare. We bought 2 of each available [GM & TA] after the concert.
Sorry Chris, I won't get into a bidding war nor seek to profit on these.
btw, They were $15 at gig, not that that is an issue.

Not sure if you are all aware, these are a Limited Edition of 500, hand numbered, signed by John.
