So looking forward to this night :D

I was wondering whether it may be possible if we could get a fan poll going and the fans could pick a few songs they would love to hear!? I saw the Waifs do this over in freo and its such a great idea!

What do people reckon? More importantly, what does Tom reckon :D

I'd be for it if of the shows were in my city. Blink 182 actually got fans to pick full setlists before I believe.

Well I reckon its a top idea; whilst were waiting for tom to reply maybe people could float some idea's around!

I reckon Sometimes would be incredible live, just to see how he would pull it off! Such a powerful song, ofcourse he could invite me up there to play it with him if he wants :D

John is going to play what he wants to play. Always has. Always will.

Although you may be right about John playing what he wants to play, he also does take into account in what his fans want. I remember a previous tour where Tom put up a poll on what "older" songs we wanted to hear. I also know that John keeps a record of all the sets he plays and will try and not always play the same tunes at the same venue/town.

Valley - I like you idea for Sometimes, such a great song, it would be very different without all the instrumentation, I do love the organ on that track though and it would be sorely missed.

As for myself off the top of my head I wouldnt mind him playing Betterman solo and really stretching out the instrumental section.

JB said late last year when we were discussing the setlist that he had about 21 songs suited for solo, spans all the albums so it won't just be the latest stuff. Some songs just don't work for solo if they were written with the band from the start.
He's also got about 4 new ones - maybe even more by the time the tours kick off.
Plus there will be guests here and there.

It'll be a different show to what you've seen in the past.
Maybe for a future band tour where they have time to rehearse they could dig into the back catalogue a bit and look at fan requests.
They'll be spending a lot more time jamming and demo'ing at the studio this year now they have a space for it.

thats great Tom! 21 songs, thats awesome! any chance you could list them *shifty eyes*

Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt care what he plays I am just so excited to see him on his own and in a different setting! And I know that theres room for requests in the future! By saying he has 4 new ones, does that mean four new songs he wrote as solo (following your comment on suitability of songs for solo set) and then perhaps, if we take that logic to the extreme end, we could be expecting some solo stuff on the new album ;)?

I can no longer go to the Sydney Metro 27/04/12 show as I will be at Byron :)

I therefore may have a couple of tickets to sell at cost price, can email the tickets as they are pdf files. This show has now sold out. Enquire within or pm.

No updates on setlist or reviews for people that have been to a show?

I read one review and it said he closed with Ocean (that would be strange). I also saw somewhere else that he closed with Pickapart.
