G'day all,
I was swimming around the rough waters of You Tube the other day, looking for some funky guitar stuff (Shut up; I was really bored) and I checked out a couple of 'best' or 'top ten' guitar riff clips, but I thought that they were all terrible; mostly death metal stuff.
I was so disappointed that I decided I would make my own.
For my top 3 electric guitar riffs I have Back in Black (AC/DC),
[url]]
Smoke on the Water (Deep Purple)
[url]]
and Money For Nothing (Dire Straits),
[url]]
but I can't decide which is truly the best. I urge you to cast your vote and help me out.
PLEASE: I know these songs and these bands are probably not popular on this forum but I ask you to carefully consider all three and vote with you head about which has the best riff (the song and band does not matter; just the riff)

P.S. If you think that there is another riff besides these that deserves to be one of the best three in the world ever, don't hesitate to add it as well as your vote, but remember, Top 20 Greatest Electric Guitar Riffs.
No acoustics,
Not even with effects,
No bass riffs,
No orchestrals... etc.

Hmm, I'm not a big fan of the first two and don't really know the third, but a few I would chuck in as being 'up there':

Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others - The Smiths
Bad Day - REM
Morocco - The Armada (only just noticed it's in 7/8!)
Knights of Cydonia / Plug in Baby - Muse
Killing in the Name - Rage Against The Machine

And to satisfy my own avant-garde anti-convention leanings:

Sleep is Wrong - Slepytime Gorilla Museum :P
