John Butler Trio announce summer shows for WA fans with special guests The Waifs, Koi Child and Dave Mann Collective!
John Butler Trio will open 2016 with three summer concerts for their beloved WA fans.
On Friday January 22nd they’ll be joined by special guest Koi Child at the Belvoir Amphitheatre in the Upper Swan. On Saturday January 23rd at Leeuwin Estate in Margaret River they will share the stage with their dear friends The Waifs and on Sunday January 24th the Dave Mann Collective will open the show for JBT at the Quindanning Tavern.
Tickets for all shows go on sale Monday November 9th at 9.00am WA TIME
The John Butler Trio has spent 2015 doing exactly what they do best, touring their socks off introducing their current album ‘Flesh + Blood’ to fans around the world. They continue to carve out bigger audiences globally as they perform through a combination of headline shows and festivals including Bonnaroo , Lollapalooza , Rock En Seine and Fuji Rock to name a few. These will be JBT’s last shows for WA fans before they head back into the studio later in 2016.
Friday January 22nd will see the JBT kick off their WA concert series with special guests Koi Child at Belvoir Amphitheatre. The seven piece Fremantle based collective’s long player will come out in early 2016. Mixed and recorded by non-other than Kevin Parker of Tame Impala who witnessed their first ever live performance. Koi Child have already proven they are one of the most promising collectives in the Australian Music Scene right now and their debut album will simply cement that!
On Saturday January 23rd JBT will perform at the Leeuwin Estate Winery Family Concert, in Margaret River in the lead up to Australia Day. They will be joined by their good friends and label partners The Waifs to create a night of magical music. Be sure to bring a picnic and enjoy a casual evening of summertime alfresco music on the lawns of one of WA’s most stunning wineries.
Their superb 7th studio album ‘Beautiful You’ has received rave reviews and has been nominated for 3 ARIA Awards including Best Blues and Roots Album. The emotionally raw but musically buoyant album demonstrates the easy chemistry that has bound The Waifs, as well as celebrating the depth of song writing talent they have at their disposal.
The Dave Mann Collective will open proceedings at the Quindanning Tavern on Sunday January 24. With 5 albums already under his belt this young musician has toured both nationally and locally to garner a steadfast reputation for his quality “timeless” song writing and dynamic live performances. Dave is highly individual in his expression… in every aspect, one can feel the ache, the elation and the passion of his beliefs all presented by a seasoned well-travelled artist whose style still remains fresh & constantly evolving, yet instantly recognizable.
Last week the John Butler Trio announced their own standalone shows for Sydney’s Taronga Zoo Twilight series – the first show sold out within minutes and the second within a few days of its announcement.
Sandgropers you’d best get your skates on if you want to catch JBT this summer!
Expect nothing short of an incredible experience as the John Butler Trio and their peers deliver the most memorable summer concert events for WA fans.
