JOHN BUTLER OFFICIALLY DROPS JBT MONIKER

As John Butler announces the release of his new single ‘Trippin On You’, he introduces his latest band format, marking a formal departure from the days of the John Butler Trio.

Butler has pulled together a new band featuring original JBT member Michael Barker on drums, Michael Boase on percussion and Ian Peres on bass/keys. And the gents are on fire.

“The last few years have seen a number of different line-ups, solo adventures and sonic exploration,” Butler explains.

“The John Butler Trio name is no longer relevant in terms of our live presentation, and it makes more sense to move on from this moniker to allow more freedom to shapeshift the lineup in order to serve the music.”

‘Trippin On You’ is the first single from Butler’s upcoming studio album,
Season Three of his Four Season roll-out.

Butler and the band will play in Busselton on April 12 as part of the SummerSalt lineup, before heading to Bluesfest to play on Sunday April 20. These dates are followed by an extensive US summer tour with Dispatch, G. Love & Special Sauce, Donavon Frankenreiter and Illiterate Light, with European and further Australian dates to be announced soon
